Who We Are

Our website address is www.foodunderfire.com.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data provided in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist with spam detection. We use the Akismet service to help reduce spam. You can learn more about how your comment data is processed here.

An anonymized string (or hash) created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you’re using it. The Gravatar privacy policy can be found here. After your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible alongside your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, we recommend avoiding images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. This is for your convenience so that you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content, such as videos, images, or articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if you had visited those websites directly. These external sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, especially if you have an account and are logged in to the third-party website.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely to enable automatic approval of follow-up comments, rather than holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website (if applicable), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you’ve provided. You can also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are required to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

WordPress.com Stats

Food Under Fire uses an internal page tracking system managed by Automattic, the parent company of WordPress. This system collects data such as your IP address, user agent, referring URL, timestamp, browser language, and country code for the sole purpose of gathering accurate page view statistics. Food Under Fire only has access to the total page view count and does not have access to the other data collected.
